Now, let us take a look at the Alias we assigned via OLAP Exchange:
1. From the PowerOLAP ribbon, go to Model tab and select the Dimension command.
2. Double-click on Customers in the Dimensions dialog box.
3. In the 'Customers' Hierarchy
dialog box, press the Alias
Groups button on the toolbar .
The Alias Groups dialog box appears as in the following figure:
Note that because we built a Hierarchy, each Customer has been split into a Country and City Category or Hierarchy. These Hierarchies will not have Contact Names, as a Contact Name was only assigned to the Detailed member / Customer. The Alias Group has been given the name ContactName, from the field that exists in the underlying Northwind database. The appropriate unique Contact Name is listed for each Customer, in the column at right.
4. Click OK in the Alias Groups dialog box to return to the 'Customers' Hierarchy dialog box.
